All
the truck you need...
Auburn Hills,
Mich. - The industry's biggest and most powerful compact pickup
is now the most versatile with the introduction of the 2000 Dodge
Dakota Quad Cab™. Dodge is again demonstrating its innovative
approach to truck design with a new breakthrough - a Dakota pickup
with four full doors. Dakota Quad Cab will be available for retail
sale in the fourth quarter of 1999, as a 2000 model.
"We've maximized
the utility of a compact pickup," said Jim Julow, Vice President,
Dodge Car & Truck Division. "By combining the power and capability
of a Dodge Dakota with six-passenger seating in a full four-door
configuration, we've developed a pickup that can fit nearly any
need - whether it's people, payload or power. In short, if you're
a compact pickup buyer, the Dakota is all the truck you need."
Company researchers
looked carefully into how consumers use their trucks and found
driving to work, pleasure driving and errand running were given
as primary uses for their compact pickups 86 percent of the time.
In fact, 98 percent of compact truck buyers already opt for the
shorter cargo box versus the traditional eight-foot length.
"People are
looking for a flexible, convenient-sized truck," said Dave Bostwick,
Director, Corporate Market Research. "The family car had to do
everything. Today, buyers are finding that a truck may do it better."
Unmatched
Convenience, Versatility

Dodge
Dakota, already the largest and widest truck in its class,
creates a whole new segment in the compact class with a
re-proportioned cab and cargo box. The Dakota cab is extended
to incorporate full-size, front-hinged rear doors, along
with rear seats that will comfortably accommodate three
adults. The box has been re-sized, yet still delivers the
best payload-carrying capacity -1,450 lbs. - of any compact
domestic pickup.

Dakota
Quad Cab's pickup bed wraps around the passenger cab for a
more integrated look, while the vehicle retains the same overall
length as the Dakota Club Cab. Wide-opening rear doors with
full roll-down windows offer unrestricted passenger ingress
and egress, and make loading and unloading large packages
easier. |

Unparalleled
Interior Room
Dodge Dakota
Quad Cab features the most interior room in its class. Passengers
enjoy more total interior volume, more front and rear shoulder
room and more front and rear hip room than any other compact four-door
pickup.
Even loyal
truck owners will find innovations that make the newest Dodge
Truck more attractive. Up front, a 40/20/40 premium cloth split
seat with folding armrest is standard equipment. Sporty high-back
bucket seats with a full-feature floor console are available.
An all-new
rear seating design delivers versatility for any combination of
people and cargo. Additional rear seat room creates more interior
space and gives the Dakota Quad Cab standard six-passenger seating.
The full-size
rear 60/40 split-folding bench seat allows adults to travel in
comfort. But with independent articulation, the versatile rear
seat cushions fold up separately or together to provide a durable,
carpeted loadfloor for tall and bulky items.
The rear compartment
can be quickly adapted to accommodate passengers on one side and
cargo on the other, or provide secure interior storage for large
packages. Rear seat grab handles located overhead provide easier
entry and exit. A pull-out cupholder carries drinks, while door
and passenger back-of-seat map pockets and under-seat cargo loops
provide storage versatility.
