Bye Bye Blackwood:
Lincoln to Discontinue Production after 2002
By: Michael LevinePosted: 04-01-02 08:00

Automotive News is reporting that production of the Lincoln Blackwood will be halted after the 2002 Model Year, ending manufacture of the ultra luxury pickup truck one year earlier than planned.

Poor sales appear to be the reason for this decision. Through February of this year Lincoln had sold only 242 Blackwoods while its primary competition, the Cadillac Escalade EXT sold 1,690 units. Lincoln's goals were to sell 10,000 Blackwoods in 2002.
