drive of the new 2008 Ford Super Duty, including the F-450 equipped
with a pickup box and ready to tow 24,000 pounds!
Caught undergoing
hot weather testing by ace spy photographer Brenda Priddy are these 2008
Ford Super Dutys.
Priddy firmly
states that these trucks will be powered by an all-new, International
sourced 6.4-liter V8 turbo diesel Power Stroke, which replaces the reliability
challenged 6.0-liter PSD.
Using common
rail instead of hydraulic rail fuel injection, it's expected this new
engine will feature fast cycling piezo electric injectors that can spray
a variable amount of fuel at a rate of up to 10 injections for every power
stroke of the cylinder, resulting in cleaner emissions and improved fuel
economy. The new design is also likely to boost the fuel injection pressures
from the current 26,000 psi to an estimated 34,000 to 36,000 psi.
An all-new
interior takes its cues from the current F-150 interior, as seen in the
photo at the bottom.
The new Super
Duty will a bit larger than the outgoing model, and will go on sale every
early in 2007 - possibly as early as mid-January but will still bow as
a 2008 model.
